Real Madrid striker wants Arsenal move

As quoted by TodoMercadoWeb, Spanish journalist Anton Meana has stated his belief that Real Madrid striker Mariano Diaz wants a move to Premier League outfit Arsenal.

Mariano Diaz has been making a lot of impact for the Real Madrid reserve teams over the past few years and the striker has now managed to translate such form into the first team as well during the current campaign.

Having been handed his opportunity in the Copa del Rey, Diaz has scored a sensational 4 goals in just117 minutes of action so far and as a result, the 23-year-old has also been awarded with appearances in the Champions League as well as La Liga.

There is no doubting the fact that Diaz is an extremely talented young striker but it would be fair to state that the attacker will struggle to earn regular first team football at Madrid due to the fact that superstars such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, James Rodriguez, Karim Benzema and Isco are all ahead of him in the pecking order.

Therefore, Diaz could well consider moving away from Madrid in order to continue his development as a player and given his talents, a host of clubs across Europe are all said to be interested in signing the former Badalona star.

There have been murmurs that Premier League giants Arsenal could well make a move for Diaz in recent times and now according to Spanish journalist Anton Meana, it has been claimed that the Dominican Republic international would consider an offer from the Gunners.

According to TodoMercadoWeb, Meana said, “[Mariano] said that, unless he gets an offer he wouldn’t be able to turn down, like Arsenal, he will stay and doesn’t want to leave in January.”

Diaz has clearly shown that he knows the way to goal and while he still has not quite proven himself at the highest level as of yet, Arsenal could do worse than take a punt on the young man due to the fact that they clearly need strengthening in attack.

From Diaz’s perspective, a move to Arsenal would most certainly provide him a wonderful opportunity to earn regular first team football at a top club. In addition, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is an expert in turning promise into world class talent and there is no reason why a predator like Diaz will not be able to flourish at the Emirates Stadium.
